  1. Heeelp!! I’m a beginner making my first item if clothing – the XL size Cuff Top with the bust dart. My bust measures 42-44″ (105-110cm) hence I chose the size/style with a dart, but my shoulders are slim. I’m using a cotton lawn. I started it in a class but didn’t finish so I’m trying to finish it at home!
Having completed all the shoulder seams and neckline (and having to re-do some of it!) and having pinned the side seams (we cut the front and back as one piece) and tried it on it’s miles too big!
So I pinned the side seams further in, up to 5cm up and under the arms/sleeves! And there’s still too much fabric in front of my armpits/above the bust. I really don’t want to have to take out the neckline to start again (I’m guessing it’s a bit too wide, but it sits well) – how can I resolve this?!!
Am I going to have to make the dart larger?
